The Volume 8 of the Dictionary of Portuguese History: the April 25, coordinated by the historians of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, António Reis, Maria Inácia Rezola and Paula Borges Santos and edited in Porto by Editora Figueirinhas has just been published and includes the essay “Teatro”, by the researcher of CIAC/ESTC, Eugénia Vasques (pp. 97-110).
This book, published four decades after the military coup of April 25, 1974, is part of the Dictionary of Portuguese History, designed and started by Professor Joel Serrão, with the publication of the supplement on the period of the transition to democracy (1974-1976 ). The publication deals with this intense historical process, marked by several key moments, and seeks to systematize, with scientific rigor, information on: political, juridical, cultural, social and economic institutions; political parties; biographies of political, military, cultural and religious figures; general aspects of the State and its public policies; the main social movements, ideologies, economics and innovation, religious diversity, literature and art.
