The Communication Sciences Seminar Series is an initiative that has been developing over the past few years, in coordination with professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by researchers from the Communication Sciences research group at CIAC, lecturers in the undergraduate Communication Sciences program, and the master’s program in Communication and Digital Media at ESEC-UAlg.
In this year’s edition, the sessions will be organized in the format of Research Selfie Talks, where five national and international invited researchers will present their “Selfie” as researchers and share their interests and research projects. Each session will have five snapshot moments: My Understanding of Science; My Philosophy of Science; My Thesis in a Frame; What I’m Doing; and My Future Self-portrait.
The aim of these seminars is to help understand the statements of each of the invited researchers, facilitate discussions on science and philosophy of science with students and guests, contribute to students’ understanding of how to conduct science today, in which areas of interest, the research landscape, and enlighten students about the importance of scientific work in the stages of evolution and extension in academia.
In November, the following seminars are already scheduled: “Research in Communication Sciences” (November 13) with Professor Dr. Alexandre Duarte, and “Work and Scientific Publications” (November 20) with Professor Dr. Álvaro Dias.
