ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINARS ABOUT SPORTS COMMUNICATION WITH GONÇALO MOREIRA

On 4 November 2022, at 10h30, Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação (ESEC- UAlg), together with CIAC, promote a seminar with Gonçalo Moreira – Eurosport commentator (specialized in cycling) and Eleven Sports reporter. The event is organized within the scope of the discipline ‘Sports Communication’ of the Communication Sciences Degree. The session will be moderated by Prof. Joana Palminha and takes place in room 95 (ESEC – Campus Penha).

Gonçalo Moreira holds a degree in Communication Sciences (ESEC/UAlg, 2008) and a master in Sports and Multimedia Journalism (Universidad Europea de Madrid). He has worked in different organizations for social communication; In 2009, he started an internship at Eurosport. Since then, he became an important figure in the field of Cycling Commenting. Gonçalo Moreira has commented on races such as ‘Tour de France’, ‘Giro d’Italia’, and other significant international championships of this sport. Besides that, he is the co-founder and content editor of the recently-launched platform Super Ciclismo.

The Communication Sciences Seminars are an initiative that CIAC has been developing in the last few years, connecting professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences members, professors of the Communication Sciences Degree, and Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.

Throughout the school year 2022-23, the seminars will address topics related to Communication Sciences, ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy. In November, the Group has already planned the seminars with Ricardo Brito Reis (11 November), Blessing Lumueno (18 November), and Nelson Floro (25 November).
