CIAC RESEARCHERS PRESENT AT THE AVANCA/CINEMA 2021 CONFERENCE

On 31st July, at 2:30pm, CIAC researchers Hugo Canossa and Rosimária Rocha will participate in the Avanca/Cinema 2021 conference, with the article “Imagem e memória – uma reflexão sobre processo criativo na memória de curto prazo” [Image and memory – a reflection on the creative process in short-term memory]. Integrated in the International Film Festival Avanca 2021, this is a conference dedicated to the relationship between cinema and art, technology and communication.

“Imagem e memória – uma reflexão sobre processo criativo na memória de curto prazo” [Image and memory – a reflection on the creative process in short-term memory] seeks to reflect on the theory of how memory works and its relationship with psychology, through the creation of a technological ecosystem for the enjoyment of an artifact that allows interaction and behavior analysis. The article presents an artistic creation that proposes the visualization of videos, challenging the viewer to replicate the visualized movements and create their own performance, mediated by the operator.

The user sees the reaction to his memory and to himself tested, through his relationship with music, the dance moves performed and the reaction to his own dance. The article focuses on the ability to evoke short-term memory, its forms of production and storage.

In addition, from 28th July to 1st August 2021, the International Film Festival Avanca 2021 features an international film competition, creative workshops, exhibitions and debates.
