CIAC CO-ORGANIZES THE II LANGUAGES FAIR 

The II Feira das Línguas [II Languages Fair] takes place on 26 September 2022, at Jardim das Comunidades, in Almancil, Portugal. The event is a collaboration from European Comission in Portugal, Europe Direct Algarve, Câmara de Loulé, CCDR Algarve and CIAC. The event celebrates the European Day of Languages and Multiculturality; 2022’s edition theme is “Languages: a path to Peace”. Admission to the event is free.

‘Jardim das Comunidades’ will be a space for information and enjoyinment for all ages. There will also be a diffusion of pedagogical tools, and opportunities in the multilingualism field. The program includes activities about Europe and its languages, story time, exhibitions, staged readings, a free platform for multilingual reading by the public visiting the fair, Speak Conecting with young European volunteers, and other activities offered by regional European organizations and other guest organizations.

Between 10h00 and 17h00, the program is directed to schools; from 18h00 to 20h30 it is dedicated to families.

The European Day of Languages was instituted in 2001 by the European Council and is now celebrated every year on September 26. Its general objectives are: to celebrate linguistic diversity of Europe; to encourage lifelong language learning; and to increase plurilingualism and intercultural understanding;
