Natália Laranjinha presents her latest book: Lars von Trier Pathos et surface at Cinemateca Portuguesa.

In an initiative jointly organized by the Cinemateca Portuguesa and the Linha de Sombra bookstore, within the scope of the Cinema Cycle “Com a linha de sombra”, the BREAKING THE WAVES session by Lars von Trier marks the launch in the bookstore Espaço 39 Degraus da Cinemateca, of the book Lars von Trier Pathos et surface, by Natália Laranjinha, professor of literature and researcher at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication.

Edited by the French L’Harmattan, the book is the result of a study that looks at Lars von Trier’s cinema “through the intonating and throbbing emotions of its characters” and in the light of the concepts of pathos and surface. The presentation of the book, in the “Linha de Sombra”, will take place on 30th october, at 5:30 p.m. and counts on the participation of the author.
