Armando Nascimento Rosa, professor, researcher and artist, together with the pianist António Neves da Silva, will hold a series of concerts of the musical project O Piano em Pessoa in the Sala da Renascença of Quinta da Regaleira, in Sintra, between April and August 2018, with the first three concerts scheduled for 22/4, 6/5 and 29/6. Meanwhile, the O Piano em Pessoa CD is published by Tradisom, with the support of the Office of Special Projects and Innovation of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, and a partnership of Casa Fernando Pessoa, where the launch concert will be held on 18/7.

The project O Piano em Pessoa presents original themes in a great versatility of styles, motivated by the atmosphere and sense of the chosen poems, that Pessoa wrote as if they were lyrics of songs; ranging from fado to jazz, from bossa nova to popular march, from blues to tango to the “chanson française”. In a concept of singing and piano, capable of captivating an immense diversity of audiences, O Piano em Pessoa explores the musicality inherent in the poetry of the most universal of Portuguese writer and integrates music composed and sung by Armando Nascimento Rosa, some of the themes being co-authored with the pianist António Neves da Silva, who is also responsible for the arrangements, for the musical direction, and for the harmonized versions for piano of all the songs in the repertoire.
