International Mental Health Film Festival

Several films from the students of the Communication Sciences Degree were selected for the seventh edition of the International Mental Health Film Festival.
The first year students of the Communication Sciences Degree will be present at the seventh edition of the Mental Health Film Festival with 11 short films selected from a set of national and international proposals that aim to contribute to the awareness of mental health problems. In collaboration with the Group of Algarve Health Centers, the short films of the young filmmakers were developed within the scope of the Audiovisual Communication curricular unity of the Communication Sciences degree at the School of Education and Communication – University of Algarve, under the supervision of the responsible Professor, Bruno Mendes da Silva, all in the fiction category.
FICSAM is a Mental Health Film Festival take will take place in Faro (PORTUGAL). In addition to diferent cinematographic works, new filmmakers and create new audiences, FICSAM aims to contribute to sensitize the general public on issues related to the mental health of individuals, combat stigma and discrimination associated with this type of problem and contribute to promoting the human rights of people with mental illness.

The sessions will take place at the Grand Auditorium of the University of Algarve, Gambelas Campus on October 3rd and 4th, with the support of CIAC.
