Global Teacher Prize

CIAC collaborator, Vítor Gonçalves, is among the 10 finalists of the Global Teacher Prize Portugal.

The “Global Teacher Prize” Portugal for 2019 was presented this Thursday, 25th April, in Lisbon. It is the second consecutive year that the prize is organized in Portugal. Among the 10 finalists, we can find the name of Vítor Gonçalves from the Agrupamento de Escolas José Belchior Viegas, in São Brás de Alportel, CIAC collaborator and PhD student in Media-Digital Art.

The global edition of the Global Teacher Prize began in 2015 and annually rewards a teacher who has distinguished himself by exceptional work and who, therefore, contributed particularly to the valorization of the profession. The national jury of this year has as honorary president the Professor Álvaro Laborinho Lúcio and is chaired by Afonso Mendonça Reis (which integrates the jury of the international prize). Pedro Carneiro is also a member of the jury, representing the scientific community; Sara Rodi, representing the parents; João Brites, representing the students and Eduardo de Sá, university professor and psychologist.

The announcement of the winner and the presentation of the prize will take place on May 6, at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, in Lisbon, at a ceremony hosted by comedian Ricardo Araújo Pereira .
