MIRIAN TAVARES IS KEYNOTE SPEAKER AT ECADE 2022 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

On 9th July 2022, at 9:30 am, CIAC coordinator Mirian Tavares will attend ECADE 2022 – The European Conference on Arts, Design & Education as a keynote speaker. Promoted by the International Academic Forum (IAFOR) in partnership with the University of Porto and ID+ – Institute for Research in Design, Media and Culture, the event takes place between the 7th and 10th of July, in Porto.

“Against the Method: Recovering the Senses in the Age of Hyperformatting” is the title of the paper. Reflecting on the work of philosophers Paul Feyrebend and Edgar Morin, Mirian Tavares analyzes the teaching path towards technical thinking and the unidirectional view of scientific knowledge.

ECADE 2022 aims to explore the impact of art, design and education on society. It seeks to analyze the way in which design shapes and mediates ideas; the visual arts challenge and question our perceptions; and education develops our shared understanding and skills.
