CIAC RESEARCHER EXHIBITS WORK AT SIMULTAN FESTIVAL (ROMANIA)

The work of CIAC researcher Tiago Cruz, Light and Shadow, will be exhibited at the 16th edition of the SIMULTAN Festival (Timisoara, Romania). The festival will take place between  11th and 19th of September, 2021, under the motto “Unstable State of Things”.

Light & Shadow is an audiovisual piece that, from two videos and through algorithmic manipulation, produces and explores a sound and visual universe on the border between private and public, intimacy and exposure, inside and outside. In a direct relationship with privacy and intimacy, in a reflexive attitude, the subtitles present the context and development process of the project.

Dedicated to interdisciplinary arts, the SIMULTAN Festival aims to support new forms of artistic expression (emerging media projects, experimental music, audiovisual and sound projects). The festival’s program includes live audiovisual performances, video art exhibitions, exhibitions, conferences and workshops, whose themes are related to stylistic eclecticism, the relationship between man and automation, recycling and other ecological themes, lyricism, the fusion between acoustic and electronic instruments, expanded cinema, live sound editing, and the political valences of sound.
