INTERNATIONAL NETWORK

CIAC/SANTAREM AFFILIATED TO INTERNATIONAL NETWORK FOR LUSOPHONY (RIAL)

The process of constitution, registration, and beginning of activities of the RIAL – Rede Internacional Académica da Lusofonia [International Academic Network for Lusophony] was officialy finalized in September 2023. The Network is headquartered at the CIAC’s Hub at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém and CIAC’s Hub in Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion is one of the founding members of the Network.

The constitution of the Network was notoriously signed by the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, João Moutão; the Director of CIAC’s Hub in Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion, Maria Barbas; and the presidente of RIAL’s Setting-up Committee.

RIAL had its Commitment Letter signed on 17 November 2022, at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, by twenty organizations from five countries — Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Mozambique, and Portugal.

The organization main objectives include promoting the internationalization of the associate higher education institutions; organizing international cooperation activities; carrying out international cooperation actions through partnerships with international organizations, government institutions and other higher education networks and associations; and organizing an annual conferences and other colloquia, seminars and symposia, which can be held in any of the members countries.

Amongst the next events organized by RIAL are the V Symposyum of Economy and Management of Lusophony, which will take place on the 20 and 24 of November of 2023 in Maputo, and the Conference in Digital Transformation, in December 2023.
