Rajele Jain, programmer of the Festival Temps d’Images, gives a lecture at UAlg

Rajele Jain, programmer and director of the Festival Temps d’Images – Cinema Awards for Movies about Art, will be at 3 pm of the 14th of December in the amphitheatre 0.3 of Complexo Pedagógico of Campus da Penha to talk about the Festival, in a joint organization with CIAC.

About the Festival

Since 2003, the transdisciplinary festival directs, produces and presents creations resulting from the crossing of different artistic languages like performance and cinema, visual arts and music, fiction and dance. This festival, that took place in Lisbon from the 14th to the 18th of November, and that is already in its fourth edition, received this year more than two hundred applications. From those, thirty-three movies about art were selected and twelve of those were from Portuguese directors. In this edition, the feature-film “A Arca do Éden” (The Ark of Eden), from the Portuguese director Marcelo Félix, was distinguished as Best Movie of the Cinema Awards for Movies about Art. To “Luz Teimosa” (Willful Light), by Luís Alves de Matos was awarded as Best Portuguese Movie about Art.

About Rajele Jain

Born in Dusseldorf, Germany, Rajele Jain lives in Portugal since 2004. Having a master degree in Philosophy and Biology by two German universities, she studied oriental philosophy and Indian culture in Madras University, India, in addition to having a post-graduation in Media Art and Design by the Media Art Academy, in Cologne, Germany. During the last two decades, she has involved herself on several interdisciplinary and intercultural projects, revealing her multiple aspects of artist, reader, writer, curator, researcher and director.
