Digital Literacy Training for the Labor Market was launched in Portugal
Maria Potes Barbas, a CIAC researcher and professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém and the at the Universidade Aberta, is responsible for the creation of the first Training in “Digital Literacy for the Labor Market”, unique in Portugal.
The access of young people with Special Educational Needs to Higher Education and the framework of students with Intellectual and Developmental Difficulty are presented as two of the most challenging aspects of the inclusive education system in Portugal.
It is within this framework that the 1st Edition of the “Digital Literacy for the Labor Market” of the Higher School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, adapted to the Portuguese reality and with a duration of four semesters (two academic years), not conferring degree, was lanched this sochool year. There is also in this training the concern to respond to the need to increase the number of students in Technologies in the national context.
