CHAPTER WRITTEN BY MIRIAN TAVARES IS PART OF THE BOOK “PORVIRES”

The chapter “Porvir do corpo na arte – entre a omnipresença e a fragmentação”, written by CIAC coordinator Mirian Tavares is part of the book Porvires,  by Francisco Cavalcante Junior, which will be launched in Fortaleza (Brazil) on 23 September 2023.

Porvir (noun) means the forthcoming time, the future. The synopsis of the book reads “Porvires is a book written by people who find in the present the making of the future; who understand hope as a verb that propels the life in gerund, a life that is being constructed every day. There are many porvires in childhood, but when it gets to adulthood we are robbed of the time for reflecting and pushed to adopt the speed of machines. People say that pain is normal, cultivated on a ground inundated and fecundated of blood, but we know how to soothe or even heal the pain. That’s when life insists on taking new directions, and without knowing where it’s going, we continue in traverses.”
