“Creation and Literacy in Script Practices” analyzes the materialities of the creation process of some contemporary Brazilian filmmakers and screenwriters in a complementary perspective. The critical theory of the creation processes and some aspects of the concept of creation as a network under construction are presented, an approach to literacy studies is proposed and, finally, the materialities of scripting practices among different filmmakers are analyzed with a focus on reading creator. Eliane Caffé, Anna Muylaert, Alê Abreu, Leonardo Mouramateus, Cao Guimarães, Marcelo Gomes and Karim Ainouz are some examples.
The perception of these practices in the scripts emphasizes the importance of looking at creation as a reading process and at reading as a creation process in the context of the accumulation of practices and the abundance of information in new media.
The dossier “Desafios, Tendências e Pesquisas: Roteiros Audiovisuais – Parte I” [Challenges, Trends and Research: Audiovisual Scripts – Part I] presents several articles that focus on the importance of the audiovisual script in the ecosystem in which the current audiovisual narrative is inserted and the demands on its production of knowledge.
