PUBLICATION

Transgressões de Pandora: subjetividades e polifonias, organized by Nadia Senna, associated professor at the Arts Center of the Federal University of Pelotas, has been launched following her postdoctoral training at the University of Algarve (2016), under the supervision of Prof. Mirian Tavares.
This publication, which brings together selected texts from the Fifth International Symposium on Gender, Art and Memory
(SIGAM), sponsored by the Arts Center of the Federal University of Pelotas, with the support of the Postgraduate Program in Arts of UFPel, integrates a joint article by Mirian Tavares and Nadia Senna: “Visualidades do feminino por artistas portuguesas e brasileiras”. This article highlights the comparative analysis carried out around the visual and creative processes of the Portuguese artists Paula Rego and Lourdes de Castro, and the Brazilian artists Maria Lídia Magliani and Regina Silveira, which have in common the plastic and discursive connections present in their works and trajectories.
As we can read in the introduction, written by the organizers, Nadia Senna and Úrsula Rosa da Silva, the e-book, divided into four parts (Women Artists: Reflection and Criticism, Presence, Processes and Speeches, Images, media; Intimacies and transgressions of the feminine), “offers a complex and forceful panorama on ruptures and innovations experienced by women artists in contemporary art”.
The launch in Brazil is scheduled for Friday, 16th November, at 4:00 p.m. in the Pelotas Book Fair.
