CIAC is present at the 1st Ibero-American Congress on Media Ecology.

Letícia Torres,  developing her PhD project at CIAC, in Communication, Culture and Arts, and Mirian Tavares, her supervisor, present the study “Fanpages as Brand Community” in the Panel 5 “Advertising and Market Strategies” of the 1st Ibero-American Congress on Media Ecology – From Global Village to Mobility. This stydy analyzes how the official fanpages of companies on Facebook can constitute brand communities.

This congress is taking place in a totally virtual mode, with 16 master interveners, who present their contributions through videos shared in the platform of the event during the whole month of April. At the same time there are 14 working groups on various subjects related to studies on media ecology. Participations are made through post-read feedback from approved articles and video-conferencing. At the end of the congress, each work table will be transformed into an ebook, containing all the articles presented. The event, organized by GENEM – Group of Studies on New Media Ecology (Universidade Estadual Paulista – UNESP, Brazil), has the support of Ria Editorial (Portugal), Media Ecology Association (United States), Latin American Chair of Transmedia Narratives (Argentina) and Red INAV – Ibero-American Network of Audiovisual Narratives.
