SÍLVIA VIEGAS PRESENT AT THE CLOSING SEMINAR OF THE AFRICA HABITAT PROJECT

Yesterday, 12th July 2022, at 5:45 pm, CIAC researcher Sílvia Viegas attended to the closing seminar of the Africa Habitat project.

Dedicated to the theme of the urban margins of Luanda and Maputo, the event had the intervention of Sílvia Viegas in the discussion session “Experimentação em Luanda” [Experimentation in Luanda].

The Africa Habitat project focuses on forms of socio-urban and housing intervention on the urban fringes of African cities in Lusotopia, in the new millennium, which contribute to improving the quality of housing and the sustainability of the habitat of low-income groups. In the current context of accelerated urbanization, globalization and the increase in socio-spatial inequalities, inscribed in the neoliberal paradigm, it is urgent to reflect on the impact of these interventions, on the construction of a more inclusive habitat and on what to do and how to strengthen them.
