SEMINAR “THE ART OF THE POSTER: FROM ADVERTISING TO THE MUSEUM”

On November 22, at 11:00 AM, the Research Groups on Film Studies and Communication Sciences of CIAC, in collaboration with the UAlg Library, will hold the Seminar “The Art of the Poster: From Advertising to the Museum”. The event will take place in the auditorium 1.4 of the Pedagogical Complex at the Campus da Penha, University of Algarve.

The guest speaker for the seminar is Eduardo Cintra Torres, a Professor at the Portuguese Catholic University, who will present two of his authored books, “History of Advertising in Portugal” and “Illustrated History of Advertising in Portugal”. These publications are the result of dedicated research spanning about five years and are the first comprehensive works on the History of Advertising in Portugal, covering the period from the Middle Ages to the end of the first quarter of the 21st century.

Jorge Carrega, a CIAC researcher and coordinator of the Research Group on Film Studies, will also participate as a speaker, and Gabriela Borges, a CIAC researcher, will moderate the discussion.
