FREE WEBINAR ON LITERARY TOURISM RESEARCH 

The Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability, and Well-Being (CinTurs) and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Algarve are organizing the webinar The current status of literary tourism research: methodologies and Implications to be held online (via Zoom) on 26 October 2023, at 17h00 (Lisbon, PT, time).

Guest Speakers Rita Baleiro (School of Management, Hospitality, and Tourism – University of Algarve) and Jordi Arcos-Pumarola (Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality, and Gastronomy – University of Barcelona) will introduce the concept and products of literary tourism and provide an overview of their research on literary tourism.

Jordi Arcos-Pumarola will present a comparative study of digital tourist maps in the scope of literary tourism and an analysis of the typology of activities linked to tourism in UNESCO creative cities to show how popular culture can be an exciting element and resource for tourism. Rita Baleiro will focus on research on the experience of literary tourists and on the creation of a dark literary tourism destination.
