ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINAR ABOUT COMMUNICATION IN DIFFERENT INTERNATIONAL CONTEXTS
On 10 March 2023, at 10h00, The Higher School of Education and Communication (ESEC) of the University of Algarve together with CIAC promote the seminar How to communicate in different international contexts: the case of Portugal and the United States, with Orlando Mateus. Organized as part of the disciplines of Institutional Communication and Public Relations, Transnational Communication, and Advertising Communication of the Degree in Communication Sciences, the session will be moderated by professors Carmén Monereo and Américo Mateus and will take place in ESEC Room 22.
Guest speaker Orlando Mateus was born in Faro and lives in the United States. Orlando is a graphic designer and is passionate about Design, Marketing, and Business. He works as a consultant and has extensive experience with design and problem-solving in this industry. Besides, he is experienced in printing, packaging, brand identity, licensed brands, and promotional advertising. Orlando was the president of Portugal Day in Rhode Island (2018/2019) and is currently a member of the board of Directors and director of innovation of the non-profit organization responsible for these initiatives.
The Series of Communication Sciences Seminars is an initiative that has been developing in recent years, in connection with professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by the researchers of CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors in The Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.
Throughout the school year 2022-23, it will address topics related to Communication Sciences; ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy.
