CENTER FOR GALICIAN STUDIES PROMOTES A LECTURE ABOUT THE EVOLUTION OF THE GALICIAN LANGUAGE

Tomorrow, May 27, 2022, at 11:00 am, the UAlg Center for Galician Studies promotes the lecture “The sociolinguistic situation of Galician: models and uses”, with Antón García Rodríguez (CEG, Universidade Nova de Lisboa). The session, which has the support of CIAC, takes place in Amphitheater D (FCHS, Pedagogical Complex) and online through Zoom. Admission is free.

From a sociolinguistic perspective of Galician, this lecture aims to present the evolution of the Galician language, from its origin to the present day.

Antón García Rodríguez has a degree in Galician Language and Literature from the University of Santiago de Compostela. He is currently a lecturer at the Center for Galician Studies at the New University of Lisbon. His main line of interest is the sociolinguistics of Galician, with special attention to the models, varieties and uses of the Galician language.
