CIAC WEBINARS IN JANUARY WITH ALFONSO PALAZÓN

On the 14th January, at 10am, CIAC promotes the webinar “Creation in Documentary Cinema”, with scriptwriter, producer and director Alfonso Palazón.

The territory of the documentary has become a vigorous and complex space that, for years, has lived in convergence with new approaches. The documentary genre is consolidated with discourses that seek the ontology of the image of reality and, in this fourth edition of CIAC Webinars, we intend to understand the documentary as a creative treatment of reality.

Alfonso Palazón has carried out different projects as a screenwriter, producer and director, among which we can highlight: Senegal. Apuntes de un viaje (2007); Sunuy Aduna (Nuestras vidas) (2009); 20 años dando vida a los días (2012). The feature documentary Al escuchar el viento (2013) was selected for competition at the Valladolid International Film Festival in 2013. He received, in 2016, the Aurelio Paz dos Reis International Award. He was co-producer of the transmedia documentary film project La Primavera Rosa (nominated for a 2018 Goya Award in Mexico). The short documentary film Juan Brito: Tamia (2019) was his last project. He is currently finishing Webdoc: Espejismos about highly vulnerable refugees.

After Nigel Power, Adriana Nascimento and Tom McCarthy in 2021, Alfonso Palazón will open the Center’s program of monthly webinars in 2022.

For the next editions Ana Lavrador, Cândida Cadavez, Maria José Pires, Isabel Dâmaso Santos, and Austin Fisher are already confirmed.
