COARA

CIAC IS ONE OF THE SIGNATORIES TO COARA’S FOUNDING TEXT 

Starting on the 1st of December 2022, CIAC is one of the new CoARA – Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment‘s founding members. CoARA is an international organization promoted by Science Europe, the European University Association (EUA), and the European Commission. Its aim is to reform research evaluation in a way that recognizes all production, activities, and practices that maximize research’s quality and impact.

As a member of CIAC’s Executive Council, Manuel Célio Conceição took part in international partners’ assemblies that contributed to the drafting of the Agreement documents for the organization. Based on 10 commitments, a common approach has been established for the reform of research evaluation, respecting organizations’ autonomy.

CoARA assembly takes place on the 1st of December 2022, when the new directors will be elected. CIAC’s participation attests the international reach of the Center and demonstrates its contribution to the evolution of research methods and procedures (which cannot conform to mere metric quantification).
