ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINARS ABOUT SPORTS COMMUNICATION WITH GUEST SPEAKER RICARDO BRITO REIS

On 11 november 2022, at 11h30, CIAC and the Higher School of Education and Communication (ESEC- UAlg) promote a seminar with Sport TV commentator Ricardo Brito Reis. The event is organized within the scope of the discipline of Sports Communication as part of the Communication Sciences Degree. The session will be moderated by Prof. Joana Palminha and takes place in ESEC’s room 95.

Guest Speaker Ricardo Brito Reis has been a Journalist since 2004 and has experience in radio, press, and TV. He is currently a basketball commentator for Sport TV and a press representative for the Portuguese Basketball Federation. Ricardo created the website Borracha Laranja in 2017 and co-authors podcast Bola ao Ar. He is also a basketball coach and has worked in teams such as Odivelas Basket, Atlético Clube de Portugal, Clube Atlético de Queluz e Sport Algés e Dafundo.

The Communication Sciences Seminars are a CIAC initiative that connects professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors of the Communication Sciences Degree and the Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.

Throughout the school year 2022-23, the seminars will address topics related to the theme of the research group, ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy. In November, the Group has also planned seminars with Rui Gustavo (15 November), Blessing Lumueno (18 de November), and Nelson Floro (25 de November).
