ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINAR ABOUT SPORTS COMMUNICATION WITH BLESSING LUMUENO

On 18 November 2022, at 9h45, CIAC and the Higher School of Education and Communication (ESTEC- UAlg) promote a seminar about Sports Communication with Blessing Lumueno. The event is organized within the scope of the discipline of Sports Communication as part of the Communication Sciences Degree. The session will be moderated by Prof. Joana Palminha and takes place in ESEC’s room 95.

Guest speaker Blessing Lumueno is currently a coach of Sporting Clube de Braga (an under-19 soccer team) and has an extensive career in communication. He was a blogger for Posse de Bola and Lateral Esquerdo websites, and wrote several articles on soccer for the Expresso newspaper. Lumueno has also worked as a Sports commentator on Canal 11, TSF, and RTP and has an active presence on Twitter, interacting with soccer fans and other opinion-makers.

The Communication Sciences Seminars are a CIAC initiative that connects professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors of the Communication Sciences Degree and the Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.

Throughout the school year 2022-23, the seminars will address topics related to the theme of the research group, ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy. In November, the Group has also planned seminars about Sports Communication with Nelson Floro (25 de November).
