CIAC RESEARCHER PARTICIPATES IN THE X ANNUAL MEETING OF AIM

CIAC researcher João Pinto will be at the 10th Annual Meeting of AIM (Association of Moving Image Researchers), taking place online between 26th and 29th May, to present “Cinema, Education and PNC: exploring possibilities on social networks”. It is a work developed within the scope of the ongoing research project on “Education, Cinema, Social Networks: a study on the National Film Plan”, funded by the FCT (SFRH/BD/137359/2018) and hosted by CIAC, integrated in the PhD candidate in Digital Media Art (Universidade Aberta/University of Algarve), with scientific supervision by professors Teresa Cardoso and Ana Isabel Soares.

The communication proposes to reflect on cinema and education in the context of social networks, exploring the presence of the National Film Plan in these online spaces.

The relationship between education, cinema and social networks seems inevitable. In a technological and audiovisual society that lives in a network, new digital lifestyles are incorporated. The relationship between cinema and education is also updated, as a result of an increasingly active society in online social networks, and therefore assumes new pedagogical dynamics.
