Trem Gallery honours Costa Pinheiro

On November 24, at 6:00 p.m., the “Costa Pinheiro: Figurações” exhibition will open at the Trem Gallery. The event, organised by the University of the Algarve, curated by the Degree Course in Visual Arts, and promoted by CIAC, with the support of the Faro Municipal Museum and Council, “is a way of honouring him for his work as an artist and as a pedagogue, in the most literal sense of the word: tutor, the one who leads children to school. Costa Pinheiro led many pupils, girls and boys, and also led, in a discreet way, small-great artistic revolutions that marked his time and that last in his work. Which is timeless and which remains. Because he will always be the artist and the author of the images that illustrated secondary school books and who provoked so much admiration among the students and who provokes so much admiration among those, who like us, have the privilege of (re)visiting his unforgettable illustrations,” as Mirian Tavares points out.

The exhibition runs until February 03 and can be viewed from Tuesday to Saturday, between 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
