CALL FOR PAPERS FOR INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GALICIAN STUDIES

The call for papers for the XIV Conference of the International Association of Galician studies (AIEG) is open from 1 July to 1 October 2023. The Conference will take place at the University of Minho (Braga/Guimarães, Portugal), from 17 to 20 April 2024.

Given the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of 25 April, the academic community is invited to submit proposals that integrate critical analyzes of relationships in the delimited cultural, academic, and institutional space. The conference welcomes proposals that focus on the two main themes of the event: Galician Studies in a more general scope and Galician Studies and/or lusophony.

The first theme includes works on linguistics, literarature, history, economy, anthropology, philosophy, sociology and arts.

Regarding lusophony and its connection to Galician studies, topics inclide: cultural and linguistic policies, lusophony in Galicia, Galician studies in Portuguese-speaking countries, Labor, tourism, and academic mobilities, among others, can be addressed, and, finally, works on Galicia-Lusophony, shared material and immaterial patrimonies, de-borderization and Euro-region Galicia-north of Portugal and lusophony and post-colonialism.

The conference accepts proposals in Galician and Portuguese, nonetheless, the organizing committee may accept proposals in other languages.

XIV Conference of AIEG-horizons of Galician Studies and / or Lusophony aims to be a space for reflection on the relationship between Galicia and Galician studies with what has been called Lusophony.
