INTERNATIONAL EVENT
CENTER OF GALICIAN STUDIES OF UALG AND CIAC PRESENT “COLECCIÓN TEXTOS E ESTUDOS” IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA
On the 3rd of september, at 12:00, the presentation of the Colleción Textos e Estudos [Collection Texts and Studies]by the Centro de Estudos Galegos (Center of Galician Studies) of the University of the Algarve, in collaboration with the Secretaria Xeral de Política Lingüística (General Secretariat for language policy) and CIAC, will take place in Santiago de Compostela (and via zoom).
Under the direction of professors Pere Ferré da Ponte e María Jesús Botana Vilar, the Center of Galician Studies of Ualg, inaugurated, in 2017, the Colección Textos e Estudos which currently has four monographic volumes: Romanceiro Tradicional de Galicia [Tradicional Novel of Galicia], by Ana Valenciano; O léxico do sufrimento nas Cantigas de Santa María. Campos sémicos e campos léxicos [The lexicon of suffrage in the Cantigas of Santa Maria. Semantic and lexical fields], by María Jesús Botana Vilar; A escritura que ilumina. O legado epistolar de José Mejuto Bernárdez (Preso antifranquista, 1936-1939) [ The writing that enlightens. The epistolary legacy of José Mejuto Bernárdez (antifranchist prisioner, 1936-1939)] , by Xesús Alonso Montero, Olivia Rodríguez González and Ana Paula Mejuto Soba; and Transcendencia e cidadanía. Estudo mitocrítico dos relatos de X.L. Méndez Ferrín [ Transcendence and citizenship. A mythocritical study of the stories of X.L Méndez Ferrín], by María Carreira López.
Destinated to share, in Portugal and abroad, themes and fundamental works of Galician culture, the main objective of this collection is to reinforce the Galician culture presence near academics and the general public. This way, these works seek to complement the literature, the history, visual arts, thoughts and another areas that, through texts from the past or the present, reveal Galician culture.
