ANA ISABEL SOARES PARTICIPATES IN THE XXIV MEETING OF SOCINE 

On the 29th October, at 2:45 pm, Ciac researcher Ana Isabel Soares participates in the XXIV Meeting of SOCINE (Brazilian Society of Cinema and Audiovisual Studies). Promoted by ESPM, the event takes place online, under the theme “Defying gravity: uncertainties, transits and directions for falls”.

Integrated in the category “CI Production, direction and adaptation among women”, the researcher Ana Isabel Soares presents the communication “”Faithful and true”? Literary adaptation in a film by Margarida Gil”. Underlining its literary character, this paper intends to analyze the film True and Faithful Relationship (1987), by Margarida Gil, through the prism of the adaptation it suffered.

True and Faithful Relationship is an adaptation of the sixteenth-century autobiography of Soror Clara do Santíssimo Sacramento. The director worked, based on the original text, with writer Luiza Neto Jorge and had the collaboration of João César Monteiro in writing the script.
