SUSANA COSTA INVITED TO TAKE PART IN TRAINING SESSION ON GAMES AND GAMIFICATION

On 29 and 30 March 2023, CIAC researcher Susana Costa will attend the training session Gaming and gamification-Lessons from adjacent fields for P / CVE, in Brussels. This is an event directed at policymakers from EU Member States, with the aim of bringing together the latest information on gaming and gamification tools related to preventing and combating violent extremism online (P/CVE).

Susana Costa presents the communication “The role of games and gamification in pluralist and inclusive speech: ‘Play your Role’, ‘In[the Hate Booth]’ and ‘Props'”.

This training session aims to update information on the misuse of games / platforms adjacent to games (and the impact of Recent Technological Developments); and gamification and gamified approaches to radicalize/recruit or alter online behaviors. Moreover, it intends to reflect on how gamified Games/approaches have been used in other challenges in the social sphere; and to apply these lessons in preventing and combating violent extremism online.
