Study By Armando Nascimento Rosa Integrates Book Censure Et Tabou

CIAC researcher Armando Nascimento Rosa had his study “Fado de la Censure” included in Censure et Tabou [Censorship and taboo], a book of jointed authorship, coordinated by Clémence Faugère. The publication will take place in Paris, by the publishing house Classiques Garnier, on October 25, 2023.

The study “Fado de la Censure. Un exemple rare de la poésie d’intervention politique destinée à être chantée dans l’oeuvre de Fernando Pessoa” (translated into French by Clara Ploux), was originally presented as a lecture at the École Normale Supérieure, in 2017, at the International Colloquium Censur et Style, organized in Paris by Jean-Baptiste Amadieu and Cristina Marinho, in a partnership between École Normale Supérieure, Collège de France, and Sorbonne.

The book Censure et Tabou presents studies of the repressive apparatus that involves the transgression of sexual and political taboos and of the strategies used to disarm censorship or exploit it for aesthetic purposes, in French, Portuguese, and English Literature from the Enlightenment to the twentieth century.
