RESEARCHER LUIS DELTELL PROVIDES “SEARCHING FOR STORIES (FICTION AND REALITY)” SEMINAR 

On 1st June, the University of Algarve will host the seminar of researcher and film director Luis Deltell. Entitled “Buscar las Historias (ficción y realidad)” [Searching for stories (fiction and reality)], the seminar will start at 9:00 am, at Amphitheater 1.3, on Campus da Penha.

Luis Deltell is a Professor at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Coordinator of the Audiovisual Communication Course and co-director of the Complutense Group for Cinematographic Studies (ESCINE). Researcher and film director, he directed different documentaries and short films, and won around thirty international awards. Among them, No escribiré arte con mayúscula (2015), in which he was co-director and co-writer, was exhibited in more than twenty spanish and international museums.

As a researcher, he won the Dragos 2018 Prize and the Communication Prize from Fundación Complutense. Directed the UCM-Santander youth research project between 2016-2018. He participated in two competitive projects of the Ministry of R&D and is currently in charge of the UCM project: “The audiovisual fiction in the Community of Madrid: places of running and development of cinematographic tourism” (H2019/HUM5788).

His field of research includes cinema, aesthetics and digital communication. He has published JCRS articles and Scopus articles, as well as some monographs. The last short film he produced, and which he co-directed with conceptual artist Isidoro Valcárcel Medina, is entitled Un diálogo circunstancial (2019).
