JORGE CARREGA PARTICIPATES IN THE INAUGURATION OF THE SANTA IRIA FAIR WITH A LECTURE DEDICATED TO “CENTURIES OF TRADITION”

The city of Faro inaugurates another edition of The Santa Iria Fair on 20 October, with a program that pays tribute to its origins and long history.

The festivities begin at 17h30, at the Church of Misericórdia de Faro, where a mass will be celebrated in honor of Santa Iria De Nabância, by the chaplain of Misericórdia. The program highlights a speech by CIAC researcher Jorge Carrega, entitled “Santa Iria Fair: centuries of tradition, culture, and memory”, which will be presented at 19h15.

The Santa Iria Fair takes place from October 20 to 29, in Largo de São Francisco, and is organized by Ambifaro in collaboration with the municipality, with the support of the Union of Parishes of Faro, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Faro, the Municipal Civil Protection of Faro and the Municipal Museum.
