SYMPOSIUM LIT & TOUR

LIT & TOUR PROMOTES THE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ‘METHODOLOGIES OF LITERATURE AND TOURISM AND LITERARY TOURISM’ 

On 14 April 2023, CIAC’s Research Group in Literature and Tourism (LIT&TOUR) organizes the International Symposium on methodologies of Literature and Tourism and Literary Tourism. The event takes place in the Main Hall of São Brás De Alportel City Hall, between 9h00 and 18h00, and includes a literary tour of the village (from 14h30 to 16h30).

Considering the value that literary tourism represents for Literature, for the territory, and for the economy of a region, LIT&TOUR invited some researchers and tourism professionals who develop and promote activities in the area to share their methodologies. The programme plans interventions by Sérgio Donizete Faria, Diomira Faria and Marlette Menezes (Federal University of Minas Gerais); Pere Quer and Jordi Chumillas (University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia); Nuno Cacilhas (Municipality of Montemor-o-Novo); Maria Mota Almeida (ESHTE-Estoril/IHC-Nova Lisboa/CIAC-UALG); and Alexandre Bataller (University of Valencia).

The International Symposium on methodologies of literature and Tourism and literary tourism is an opportunity to reflect on the practices carried out in such distant and diverse spaces as Barcelona, Montemor-o-Novo, or the Brazilian hinterland; and that are applied by specialists from diverse fields such as history, literature, geography, economy, tourism, and education.
