THEATER PLAY

“LEBRE, LANCES DE HERMES” BY ALEXANDRE CALADO IS BACK IN LISBON

From 23 to 26 February 2023, at 21h30, the theater play LEBRE, Lances de Hermes, by Alexandre Pieroni Calado (CIAC researcher) and João Ferro Martins will be on show at Centro de Artes de Lisboa/Primeiros Sintomas. This is a presentation of words as an image-time, philosophical hip-hop, and cabaret theatre for digital citizens.

The project LEBRE – Lances de Hermes has, as its starting point, the idea that we are in an era of swiftness and communicability, which are attributes of the mythological god Hermes. From another perspective, it assumes a diagnosis of hermetic inflation to the extent that contemporary culture requires a profound critical attitude and interpretation.

With this project, Alexandre Pieroni Calado and João Ferro Martins heighten a reflection on the present times by revisiting Greek and Latin traditions previously discussed in O Declive e a Inclinação – Fragmentos do mito de Sísifo e A Morte nos Olhos (about Perseus and Medusa).
