INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: ICOAH 2022

CALL FOR PAPERS FOR ICOAH 2022 WITH EXTENDED DEADLINE UNTIL 16 JUNE

The call for papers submission period for the 9th International Conference on Arts and Humanities (ICOAH 2022) was extended until June, 16. This edition, to be held on 15 and 16 September 2022, counts with the participation of CIAC’s vice-coordinator Bruno Mendes da Silva as keynote speaker.

Under the theme “Technological Transformations”, ICOAH 2022 intends to bring together artists, researchers, academics, experts and scientists to debate the promises and dangers of technological growth; and the role of the arts and humanities in technological innovation and in investigating its effects on society and individuals.

Proposals may include papers, technology demonstrations, workshops, panels, and art presentations on the social, individual, physical and ethical impacts of innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, bionics and virtual reality; technological creations and innovations in the arts; virtual, augmented, mixed, extended and real real realities (VR, AR, MR, ER, RR); video games; technological innovation and the perpetuation of systems of power; artificial intelligence and politics; e-colonialism; technological racism; invisible technologies mass surveillance; immersive technologies and business; environmental impacts of the technological age; cryptoeconomics; cyberlaw, cybersecurity, hacking and cybercrime; technology and the preservation of cultural heritage; the history and future of technology; social networking and political disruption; technology and social psychology; technology and the body; technology and disability; technology and neurodiversity; technology and perception; technology and religion; technology and health; and creativity, imagination, advocacy and activism in the technological age.

Papers addressing issues such as arts in society; new technologies and arts; research in creative practices; humanities and social sciences; interdisciplinary humanities; arts education; journalism, media and mass communication; and applied arts are also welcome.

The CIAC/UAlg-ICOAH partnership allows UAlg faculty members, students and representatives to enjoy special discount rates and the opportunity for partial scholarships. In addition, they will be able to chair sessions and participate in the conference as Scientific Committee members or evaluation panel members.

ICOAH 2022 is organised by the International Institute of Knowledge Management, hosted by the International Association for Social Science and Humanities (IASSH) and by the Caritas Institute of Higher Education Hong Kong and is supported by CIAC/University of Algarve, Dau Mot University (Vietnam), University of KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), Banasthali University (India) and University of Pretoria (South Africa).
