ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINAR ON TRANSNATIONAL CINEMA IN MEDITERRANEAN EUROPE

On 14 April 2023, at 14h00, The Higher School of Education and Communication (ESEC) of the University of Algarve and CIAC promote the seminar Transnational Cinema in Mediterranean Europe, with CIAC researcher Jorge Carrega. Organized as part of the discipline of Transnational Communication of the Degree in Communication Sciences, the session will be moderated by Professor Carmén Monereo and will take place in ESEC Room 22.

Guest speaker Jorge Carrega holds a PhD in Communication, Culture and Arts (UAlg, 2014). He has been lecturing History of Cinema at the University of Algarve since 2011. Currently, he is a member of CIAC’s Scientific Council, where he coordinates the Research Group on Film Studies. Jorge Carrega recently published a book titled “Popular genres and transnational Cinema in Mediterranean Europe”.

The Communication Sciences Seminars are an initiative that has been developing in recent years, in connection with professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by the researchers of CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors in The Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.

Throughout the school year 2022-23, it will address topics related to Communication Sciences; ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy.
