ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINAR WITH ANDRÉ MARTINS
On 17 May 2023, at 15h00, CIAC and The Higher School of Education and Communication (ESEC) of the University of Algarve promote a seminar with André Martins, creative director of the agency Post Armada. Organized as part of the discipline of Journalism and Audiovisual Production, of the Degree in Communication Sciences, the session will be moderated by Professor Joana Palminha and will take place at ESEC Room 31.
From an early age, André Martins has held a deep passion for advertising and cinema. In Mozambique, he discovered his love for storytelling and improved the technique to capture unique and impactful narratives. Now, with more than twenty years of experience and living in Washington D.C., he works with a diverse range of clients, including organizations, agencies, and political candidates. He has worked for National Geographic, Smithsonian; advertising agencies such as Ogilvy, McCann Erickson and DDB; organizations such as the IMF, USAID; and on political campaigns for Priorities USA, Biden for President, Beto for Texas, DCCC, Senate Majority PAC and Equis Labs. He is a board member of the Video Consortium and the Portuguese American Leadership.
The Communication Sciences Seminars are an initiative that has been developing in recent years, in connection with professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by the researchers of CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors in The Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.
Throughout the school year 2022-23, it will address topics related to Communication Sciences; ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy.
