CYCLE OF SEMINARS

INVITRO PROGRAM PROMOTES SEMINAR ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN ARTISTIC CREATION
On 3 May 2023, at 14h00, the curatorial program INVITRO promotes the seminar Artificial Intelligence in artistic creation and construction of contemporary discourse: trend or movement?, which happens online. Coordinated and moderated by Adérito Fernandes-Marcos (CIAC/University of São José) and curated by Selma Pereira (CIAC/Ismat – Lusophone teaching), the session has interventions by Lucia Santaella (Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, Brazil) and Vítor Santos Teixeira (University of São José, Macau).
The seminar intends to reflect on the implications of artificial intelligence in the field of media art and digital media and also at the university for teaching and research purposes (specifically in the field of psychology). “Artificial intelligence and human creativity under questioning“(Lucia Santaella) and “‘Artificial Intelligence…’: reflections, practices and concerns from the psychology department“(Vítor Santos Teixeira) are the motto for the debate.
Artificial Intelligence in artistic creation and construction of contemporary discourse: trend or movement? seeks to challenge teachers, researchers, artists, students, and the public to share their experience and practical examples of the use of artificial intelligence, as well as their perspective on the role of this technology in the fields of art and the construction of contemporary discourse in its multiple and polysemic dimensions.
The INVITRO curatorial program is developed as part of CIAC’s project ‘Development and transdisciplinary experimentation of technological artifacts’ at the Universidade Aberta/Artech-International. It aims to develop and encourage the production of technological artifacts based on inter-multi and transdisciplinary intersection, cross-sector collaboration, innovation and creative thinking.
The cycle of seminars is open to the public and free of charge and grants a certificate of participation.
The number of participants is limited, and registration is mandatory (here).
