CYPET PROJECT PRESENTED AT THE V INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON RESEARCH IN ART AND VISUAL CULTURE
On 8 December 2022, CIAC researchers Rosimária Rocha, Inês Guerra and Célia Vieira present the communication “Poetics in Ciberperformance: a case study on ‘Forgotten Gardens’” at the V International Research Seminar in Art and Visual Culture. Under the theme “(en)volver,” the event is organized by the Federal University of Goiás (Brazil) and takes place between 6 and 9 December in an online format.
The Communication addresses a case study on cyberperformance “Forgotten Gardens,” presented in 2020 by Teatromosca in partnership with Câmara de Oeiras (Portugal). The performance was viewed as a case study in the course of an interview conducted within the scope of the research project CyPeT – an ongoing CIAC project funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
Based on this case study, the authors intend to identify and analyze creative initiatives promoted by artists, artistic groups, and the Portuguese academic community in the field of Performing Arts. They are guided by the creative processes, strategies, aesthetic experience, and social interaction of the audience in remote performance contexts. This research aims to explore the theory and practice of cyberperformance in order to develop a new pedagogical model for its inclusion in higher education curricula.
International Research Seminar in Art and Visual Culture (SIPACV) is an event held by the Postgraduate Programs in Art and Visual Culture (Federal University of Goiás, Brazil) and Master in Art and Visual Culture, Faculty of Arts (University of the Republic, Uruguay). The event is directed at researchers, and postgraduate students in Art, Visual Culture, and related fields who are interested in discussion, cooperation, and dissemination of their projects and research. The event means to reflect on the current times, where dissent and war are brought back to discussion in the geopolitical plane, as well as to discuss the need to think about freedom, democracy, and new artistic and pedagogical manifestos.
The conference program is available here.
