PhD students in Digital Media-Arts participate in the research group on Communication, Image and Contemporaneity, a partner of CIAC

Juliana Wexel, PhD student and research fellow at the Foundation for Science and Technology, will participate this friday, 14th May (at 2pm Portugal – 10am Brasília) in the May edition of the film club coordinated by the CIC Research Group – Communication , Image and Contemporaneity, from the University of Tuiuti do Paraná (UTP).

The journalist and multimedia artist will present her project within the PhD in Digital Media-Arts (DMAD), hosted by CIAC, entitled “Gender, Urban Art, Media Art: the aesthetic discourse of artists in an autogynographic map” . Also participating in the meeting is the researcher Elisa Antunes Esteves, who will be presenting her research “The use of archival audiovisual materials in new digital products: the transforming role of digital media-arts”, also linked to DMAD.

CIAC is one of the partners of the Research Group on Communication, Image and Contemporaneity, created in 2001 by CIAC researcher and collaborator, Denize Araujo. The general theme of the CIC is image analysis, although each year a more specific work theme is developed.

Since 2017, the CIC-CIAC film club has been open to the community to show short films and debates and currently takes place once a month, via the Zoom platform.
