Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve and CIAC promote a seminar dedicated to Spanish Language and Linguistics

Next monday, 17th May, between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, the University of Algarve will host the seminar “The southern varieties of Spanish: reflections for the study of the Andalusian linguistic modality”, within the scope of the Spanish Language and Linguistics course , with guest speaker Marta León-Castro Gómez (Sevilla University). Marta León-Castro Gómez’s work is based on the Spanish language and linguistics, and she is also a member of the research group “Andalusian Sociolinguistics” at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Seville.

A palestra will run online via Zoom with free entry.

Marta León-Castro Gómez is a doctoral candidate in Hispanic Philology at the University of Seville, holds a master’s degree in Teaching Secondary Education and Bachillerato, FP and Language Teaching (MAES) from the University of Seville and a master’s degree in Teaching Spanish for foreigners from the Pablo Olavide University (Seville). She is finalizing her degree in Journalism at the Faculty of Communication of the University of Seville.

Marta León-Castro Gómez has held various teaching positions: at EUSA University Center since 2012, in intensive Spanish courses for foreigners at International University Center of the Pablo de Olavide University since 2013 and in Spanish courses for foreigners at YES International Consulting AIE since 2020.

She is even a writer for the magazine “La Copla” edited by Caligari Films S.A.; wrote several articles for different specialized magazines and participated in several national and international conferences.
