GENERATIVE ARTWORK BY PEDRO ALVES DA VEIGA INTEGRATES THE EXHIBITION “VISION OF GOD”

The opening of the exhibition Vision of God will take place on 25 March 2023, at 16h00, at the Bull & Stein Gallery, in Porto The exhibition seeks to think over the representation of the image of God and features the generative work of art G. O. D. – Generative Ominous Dataset, authored by CIAC researcher Pedro Alves da Veiga.

G.O. D. – Generative Ominous Dataset develops as a video art installation and 10 unique prints of giclee fine-art. It is a generative work of art that invokes the interpretation of a” triad ” of key concepts: data as God (relates to the collection/processing of personal information by Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems with the metaphor “the All-Seeing Eye”); minous dataset (the “sinister” behavior of data collection processes is reinforced, with the use of images obtained from the Internet (in a process similar to that of AI systems), which depict situations of violence, war, destruction, conflict, harassment, violent repression, and natural disasters); and generative epiphany (the “aesthetic Rapture” is stimulated, with a continuous flow of unique patterns, an infinite succession of epiphanies and a sensory flood of the divine).

Vision of God is a collective exhibition that brings together works by different national and international artists. In addition to Pedro Alves da Veiga, the exhibition hosts works by Alina Palamarciuc (Moldova), Alina Zaharia (Romania), Alvin Ng (Singapore), Celestino Monteiro (Portugal), Dmitry Biriukov (Russia), Filipe Rodrigues (Portugal), Helder de Carvalho (Portugal), Isabel Mourão Alves (Portugal), Joanne Betts (England), Jorge Baldwin (Peru), Pilar Andaluz (Portugal), Raimundo Martinez (Spain), RKLSK (Ukraine), Sascha kürschner (Germany), Tânia op (Portugal) and Victor Escaleira (Portugal).
