SÍLVIA VIEGAS TAKES PART IN CONFERENCE PROMOTED BY ACM
On 12 May 2022, between 14h30 and 16h00, CIAC researcher Sílvia Viegas takes part in the panel “Local participatory plans: present challenges and solutions”, in a Conference promoted by the High Commissioner for Migration (ACM), within the framework of the project Participatory Local Plans for the Integration of Migrants: Learning from best practices and building bridges between U.S. and Portugal. The event takes place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon and aims to reflect on the present challenges and possible solutions to improve the current municipal plans for the integration of migrants.
The research project Participatory Local Plans for the Integration of Migrants is promoted by the High Commissioner for Migration (ACM) and supported by the US State Department through the “Small Grants” Program of the US Embassy in Lisbon. This project aims to contribute to the creation and implementation of national guidelines for the development of a second generation of participatory municipal plans for the integration of migrants, learning from best practices developed in both countries.
It seeks to involve not only the national and local authorities but also universities and research centers in the area, in addition to existing NGOs and migrant associations.
