PROGRAM OF THE II RNEC CONFERENCE IS NOW AVAILABLE

The program of the II Congress of the National Network of Cultural Studies it is now available online. Organized by RNEC, CIAC, and ESEC, the event takes place at the Pedagogical Complex of Campus Penha, at the University of Algarve, on 27 and 28 April 2023.

The II Conference of the National Network for Cultural Studies aims to foster discussion on digital citizenship and contemporary cultures; and reaffirm the vitality of the field of cultural studies. In addition, it intends to debate and promote work carried out in research centers and universities in order to encourage the development of partnerships and teaching/research networks.

This edition is attended by keynote speakers João Massarolo (UFSCar – Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil), María Amor Pérez Rodríguez (University of Huelva, Spain), Marco Solaroli (University of Bologna, Italy), Ana Cristina Mendes (Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon), Ignacio Aguaded (University of Huelva, Spain), Moisés de Lemos Martins (Lusophone University) and Maria Manuel Baptista (University of Aveiro).

Also noteworthy is the participation of CIAC researchers: Ana Clara Santos, Ana Isabel Soares, Gabriela Borges, María Botana Vilar, Mirian Tavares, Juliana Wexel, Olivia Novoa Fernández, Patrícia Dourado, Rosimária Sapucaia, Sílvia Viegas, Sandra Côrtes-Moreira and João Paulo de Carvalho dos Reis e Cunha.

The National Network for Cultural Studies (RNEC) brings together nine Portuguese Higher Education Research and Instruction institutions dedicated to the development of research, innovation, training, and dissemination of cultural studies. It aims to promote the organizing of the cultural studies field and stimulate national cooperation in order to give greater strength to scientific production in the field. This initiative intends for the cultural studies practiced in Portuguese universities to be increasingly a reference in and out of the country.
