MIRIAN TAVARES PARTICIPATES IN WEBINAR ABOUT ART, SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND NEW MEDIA PROMOTED BY DGARTES

On April 19, 2022, CIAC coordinator Mirian Tavares will be the guest of the DGArtes Informal Talks Program. Under the theme “Art, Science, Technology and New Media”, the session will take place remotely and is part of the DGArtes’ current strategy to train human resources.

In this webinar, Mirian Tavares will focus on the place of digital/technological arts in contemporary art. The aim is to reflect about the definition of digital art; the way artists of the digital universe coexist with spaces destined for contemporary art; the relationship between digital arts and the media field; and the way science and art converge.

The Informal Talks Program is aimed at the staff of the DGArtes Directorate and features guests who are specialists in the various themes that converge with the institution’s priorities and with the specific objectives of public cultural interest. This program seeks to contribute to internal reflection and to diversify the working tools and information available to employees in areas and domains relevant to their professional practice, addressing issues such as community artistic practices, accessibility in cultural creation and enjoyment, artistic mobility and sustainability, black representation in the arts, management of statistical information, professions in the cultural sector, intersectoral public policies (which intersect with the arts) and the specificities of the different artistic disciplines.
